E-Move Charging Station
A new test project is going underway across Europe: The E-Move Charging Station.
Imagine you are out one day, driving your electric vehicle, when you notice the battery is about to go dead. Those overnight charges at home just aren’t giving your transportation the juice it needs. This is where the charging stations come in. Up to eight electric vehicles—both 2 and 4 wheeled—are able to be charged at these stations. The solar panels on the station’s roof are able to harness enough energy to supply a vehicle with 1.76 kWp of electricity; more than enough to cover a driver’s daily needs. The station will also be able to charge cell phones and other electronic devices.
Created by Danish entrepreneur Valentin Runggaldier, the first prototype is being tested in Bozen, Denmark. Once this test completes successfully, plans are to start setting up more of these stations across Europe; and hopefully one day, the rest of the world.
